31 Aug v Arblaster XI: Match abandoned rain

Under heavy cloud cover, this eagerly awaited match was only two balls when the first raindrops arrived which set the pattern for the rest of the day. The constant drizzle did not dampen spirits with Arblaster XI reaching 120 for 1 at lunch. The continous rain made bowling difficult so Eydon had to resort to using an all spin attack whcih eventually paid off with JP [Jonathan Partridge] and David Eaton claiming two wickets each before Arblaster XI declared on 206.

Eydon got off to a bright start with Ed Hill and Sam Harper opening. Ed Hill fell to a catch at mid-on with JP following quickly caught at slip. David Eaton joined Sam Harper - who was making light of the difficult conditions. David held out to a catch at mid-off before the players eventually agreed to abandon the match at 5.50pm with Sam Harper 60 not out.
